Like anything else on the Internet, “bots” or robots, which are fake accounts made to look like a real person in phone chat communities, are taking over like some sort of robot apocalypse. Just like in the movies, bots or robots can be used for good or bad on online and phone dating communities. Some sites or communities have bots that are there solely to help you, they will ask you a series of questions to help you build a profile.

Bots can be like your greatest wingman; they even give you examples of shared interests and things to talk to other person about. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers out there in the online communities looking to take advantage of people. While you are online looking for love, these bots are trying to lure these people away from the online communities to phishing sites. Bots really seem like they are genuine, real people when in reality they are faker than your friend’s latest catfish.

Some bots are attempting to phish your personal information like your credit card or social security information. If you run into a bot asking you for your phone number, home address or e-mail address it is probably a good time to exit out of the site or community. Would a normal human ask someone for their home address or social security number on a first date? No. So you know it’s a bot trying to phish information from you to either take your money or steal your identity.

Our text chat lines are completely private for the caller. No information is asked for you to give and the only personal information given is that of what you provide us. Our chat lines are bot free and are full of real people looking for real relationships, conversations and friendships. Ditch the bots and scammers of online dating sites, pick up the phone and text our fun and safe phone dating service.

A lot of scammers will use bots, (programs that mimic human interactions) to try and con users into visiting sites or performing some action that scammers want their victim to perform (such as divulging personal information. The problem is, bots are stupid. They don’t interact well (except for maybe some of the more robust “chatterbots”).

When you ask a bot a question, it’s most likely not going to give you a straight answer. It may look at keywords in your responses and try to message you something relevant, but it still won’t be a direct answer. If it seems like the person you’re talking to isn’t answering your questions directly, try to ask them (or it) something very specific to see if it comes back with another generic response.

This will help you determine if you’re dealing with a bot or a scammer who just doesn’t really want to put in the effort required to carry on a normal conversation.
